Artemisia Princeps (Mugwort) Leaf Extract

Low risk

FunctionSoothing Botanical

Mugwort (Artemisia princeps, 쑥) is one of Korea's oldest skincare botanicals — the leaf has been used in baths and compresses for centuries. The leaf extract (as opposed to the steam-distilled essential oil) carries flavonoids and tannins credited with calming visible redness and supporting stressed skin. In modern K-beauty it anchors entire 'artemisia' soothing lines; in smaller amounts it rides along as a supporting calmer.

Why we grade it Low: EWG-style low. A water-based leaf extract used at low levels for soothing; not a volatile essential oil, so the allergen load of mugwort EO does not apply.
