What it is — Ceramide AS (INCI: Ceramide AS) is a barrier lipid that helps replenish the skin's own ceramide content.

What it does — It is commonly used to top up the skin's lipids and support a comfortable, well-protected surface feel.

Typical use — It appears in barrier-support moisturizers, serums and creams, usually within a blend of ceramides and complementary lipids.

Who it suits / good to know — Well suited to dry, sensitive or barrier-compromised skin. It performs best as part of a balanced barrier-support formula rather than on its own.
