Propane
FunctionPropellant
What it is — Propane (INCI: Propane) is a liquefied-gas propellant.
What it does — It provides the pressure that dispenses a product from a pressurized can, helping deliver an even spray, mousse or foam; it does not stay on the skin.
Typical use — Found in aerosol sprays, mousses and foams, usually blended with other propellant gases such as butane.
Who it suits / good to know — Relevant to aerosol formats rather than a skin active. As a flammable propellant, aerosol products should be kept away from heat and open flame and used in ventilated areas.
Safety — DHALIORA grades it mid risk in its EWG-style, ingredient-by-ingredient review. This reflects the ingredient in general and is not medical advice; follow the finished product's aerosol handling and storage directions.
