Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil
Functionemollient oil
What it is — Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil (INCI of the same name) is a plant oil pressed from rosehip seeds, naturally rich in essential fatty acids. It is used as an emollient.
What it does — It softens and conditions the skin, supports the lipid barrier and gives a nourished, comfortable feel, with a relatively light texture for a facial oil.
Typical use — It appears in facial oils, serums, moisturisers and balms, sometimes as a headline oil and sometimes within a blend.
Who it suits / good to know — Often chosen for dry, mature or barrier-stressed skin, and its lighter feel suits many normal and combination skins too. Being a natural oil, it keeps best stored away from heat and light.
Safety — DHALIORA grades it low risk: a well-tolerated plant oil valued for a light feel (EWG 1). This reflects the ingredient in general and is not medical advice; patch-test if your skin is easily irritated.
