What it is — Arachidyl Alcohol (INCI: Arachidyl Alcohol) is a long-chain fatty alcohol used as an emollient and thickener. Unlike drying alcohols, it is waxy and non-drying.

What it does — It is commonly used to thicken and stabilize creams and to give a smooth, conditioned skin-feel.

Typical use — It appears in creams, lotions, conditioners, masks and balms, where it builds body and softness.
