What it does — It is commonly used to help calm and comfort the look of sensitive or irritated skin and scalp.

Typical use — It appears in calming toners, balms, creams, masks and baby- or body-care products as a supporting botanical.

Who it suits / good to know — Often chosen for dry, sensitive or reactive skin. Calendula is in the daisy (Asteraceae) family, so those with ragweed or daisy allergies may want to patch-test first.
