What it is

Marula oil is a lightweight plant oil pressed from the seeds of Sclerocarya birrea. It is used as a fast-absorbing "dry" emollient.

What it does

It softens and conditions the skin and hair, helping to smooth and add a light, non-greasy nourishment, and is rich in fatty acids and natural antioxidants.

Typical use

Found in facial oils, moisturisers, hair oils and balms, either on its own or in oil blends.

Who it suits / good to know

Its light feel makes it popular with those who find heavier oils greasy.
