nicotinamide
FunctionConditioning
What it is — Nicotinamide (INCI: Niacinamide) is the amide form of vitamin B3 and is essentially another name for niacinamide used in older literature.
What it does — Like niacinamide, it is used as a conditioning ingredient that can support the look of an even, comfortable, well-moisturised surface.
Typical use — It appears in toners, essences, serums, moisturisers and scalp products, and is a well-established, general-purpose conditioning ingredient.
Who it suits / good to know — Generally considered suitable for most skin types, including oily and combination skin. It layers easily and is often paired with humectants such as hyaluronic acid.
Safety — DHALIORA grades it low risk: a long-established B-vitamin with a strong tolerability record. This reflects the ingredient in general and is not medical advice; patch-test if your skin is reactive.
