nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide
FunctionConditioning
What it is — Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (INCI: NAD) is a coenzyme found naturally in living cells and derived from vitamin B3. In cosmetics it is used as an antioxidant-type active.
What it does — It is included in antioxidant and age-support formulas to help defend against everyday oxidative stress and to support a healthy-looking surface. Topical cosmetic evidence for it is still developing, so it is best thought of as a supporting ingredient.
Typical use — It appears in serums, essences and creams marketed around antioxidant support, usually within a wider blend.
Who it suits / good to know — Generally suitable for most skin types. Set realistic expectations, as it is a supporting antioxidant rather than a proven standalone treatment.
Safety — DHALIORA grades it low risk: a well-tolerated vitamin-B-derived coenzyme. This reflects the ingredient in general and is not medical advice; patch-test if your skin is easily irritated.
