rosehip oil
FunctionEmollient
What it is — Rosehip Oil (INCI: Rosa Canina Seed Oil) is a plant oil pressed from rosehip seeds, naturally high in linoleic acid and other fatty acids. It is used as an emollient in skin and scalp care.
What it does — It softens and conditions, supports the skin and scalp barrier and gives a nourished, comfortable feel, with a relatively light texture for a plant oil.
Typical use — It appears in facial oils, serums, moisturisers, scalp oils and balms, sometimes as a headline oil and sometimes within a blend.
Who it suits / good to know — Its linoleic-rich, lighter feel suits many skin types, including combination and barrier-stressed skin. Being a natural oil, it keeps best stored away from heat and light.
Safety — DHALIORA grades it low risk: a well-tolerated plant emollient oil. This reflects the ingredient in general and is not medical advice; patch-test if your skin is easily irritated.
