Adenosine
FunctionAnti-Wrinkle
What it is — Adenosine (INCI: Adenosine) is a nucleoside — a naturally occurring compound built from adenine and the sugar ribose. Cosmetic-grade adenosine is produced by fermentation to high purity.
What it does — In skincare it is commonly included as a conditioning and smoothing agent and is frequently associated with the look of firmer, more even skin. It is a recognized functional ingredient in many "anti-wrinkle" style formulas, described in terms of appearance rather than medical effect.
Typical use — Appears in serums, eye creams, moisturizers and ampoules, and in scalp and hair products. It is typically used at very low levels because it is active at small concentrations.
Who it suits / good to know — Generally well tolerated across skin types and often paired with peptides, niacinamide or hyaluronic acid. It is valued for being gentle and stable.
Safety — DHALIORA grades it low risk. General information only, not medical advice; patch-test if you are sensitive.
