Arginine
FunctionAmino acid (conditioning)
What it is — Arginine (INCI: Arginine) is a pH-adjusting ingredient.
What it does — It is commonly used as an amino acid that fills internal damage sites and improves hair tensile strength.
Typical use — It is used in very small amounts to bring a formula to its target pH so the product is stable and skin-comfortable. Getting pH right keeps a product both stable and comfortable to wear.
Who it suits / good to know — Used at trace, neutralized levels as part of the base. It is a processing aid rather than an active. There is nothing to react to at the trace levels used here.
Safety — DHALIORA grades it low risk in its EWG-style, ingredient-by-ingredient review. This reflects the ingredient in general and is not medical advice; patch-test if your skin is easily irritated.
