Dimethylsilanol Hyaluronate
FunctionHydration
What it is — Dimethylsilanol Hyaluronate (INCI: Dimethylsilanol Hyaluronate) is a humectant — a water-binding ingredient.
What it does — It is commonly used as a silicone-hyaluronic acid hybrid that combines HA hydration with silicone smoothing.
Typical use — It appears across toners, essences, serums, sheet masks, lotions and creams, as well as scalp and hair products, generally as a supporting hydrator. Because it is water-soluble and lightweight, it slots easily into most formats without adding heaviness.
Who it suits / good to know — Suitable for most skin and scalp types. Because humectants draw in moisture, they tend to perform best applied to damp skin and paired with an occlusive or moisturizer, especially in dry air. If your skin runs very dry, sealing it in afterwards helps lock the moisture down.
Safety — DHALIORA grades it low risk: well-tolerated hybrid humectant. This reflects the ingredient in general and is not medical advice; patch-test if your skin is easily irritated.
