What it is — PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate (INCI: PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate) is built from glucose and oleic acid, then ethoxylated to make it water-soluble.

What it does — It thickens water-based surfactant systems without the salty, stringy feel that comes from thickening with sodium chloride alone, and it lends lather a softer, more cushioned texture.

Typical use — It is common in shampoos, body washes and colour shampoos, usually at low percentages.
