It doesn't absorb and just sort of sits on top. It only coats the surface so it doesn't feel moisturizing. I don't recommend it for problematic skin. The spreadability is good though... too bad.

baronsie · Cream
The 1% ectoin cream.
Ectoin at a full 1% — baronsie's Ectoin Cream doubles its award-winning lotion's dose, wraps it in ceramide NP, panthenol, jojoba and a phosphatidylcholine lamella, and keeps 18 of its 19 ingredients low-risk in our screen (the single mid is a trace pH adjuster).
Ectoin at a full 1% — baronsie's Ectoin Cream doubles the dose of its award-winning lotion, wraps it in ceramide NP, panthenol, jojoba and a phosphatidylcholine lamella, and keeps 18 of its 19 ingredients low-risk in our screen (the single mid is a trace pH adjuster).
Ectoin is an extremolyte — the molecule desert microbes use to survive dehydration — and this cream carries it at a stated 10,000ppm, twice the concentration of the baronsie lotion we stock. Behind it sits the same deliberately short recipe: ceramide NP and panthenol for the barrier, jojoba and a trio of plant oils (rapeseed, coconut, palm kernel) for lipids, hydrogenated phosphatidylcholine to carry water in — and no fragrance, no essential oils, nothing else. Hwahae reviewers made it their 2024 second-half Awards #1 moisture cream, at 4.69 across 2,349 reviews with 'no irritation' (760) in its top topics. Sold in Korea as a family cream, infants included.
Hero ingredients: Ectoin 10,000ppm + Ceramide NP + Panthenol + Phosphatidylcholine, with jojoba seed oil.
How to use: As the last skincare step, smooth over face — or face and body — morning and night. Layer thicker on wind-burned or heater-dried patches; light enough for day, substantial enough to seal the night.
Read before you buy: It is a true cream, not a gel: very oily skin may find daytime wear rich in summer — 170 of 2,349 reviewers note an oily feel — so oily types lean night use. It is fragrance-free with zero Hwahae allergen-caution flags; the faint raw-material scent some mention (12 reviews) fades on contact. The opaque tube hides how much is left — it holds 200ml, so it lasts. The full ingredient list and our risk screening are on the product page at dhaliora.xyz.
Ships from Korea, worldwide.
10,000ppm (1%) of German-fermented ectoin, printed on the label — twice the baronsie lotion, in the format the dose belongs: a night-worthy cream.
'Absorbs well' (803), 'spreads well' (790) and 'not sticky' (458) lead its texture topics — a cream that behaves like one layer, not a film.
4.69 across 2,349 Hwahae reviews, 'no irritation' at 760 mentions, allergy-like reports at 1.4%, zero allergen flags — and Hwahae's 2024 second-half Awards #1 moisture cream.
170 reviewers note an oily feel — very oily skin should keep it to nights or winter. The light half of this line is the baronsie Ectoin Lotion.
You can't see how much is left — though at 200ml it takes months to find out.
This is the baronsie line at full strength: the same quiet 19-line recipe as the award lotion, with the ectoin doubled to 1% and the lipids built up to cream weight. It won Hwahae's moisture-cream award the way the lotion won its categories — on tolerance numbers, not marketing — and it is sold in Korea as a family cream, infants included. If your skin runs oily, start with the lotion; if your winter face, retinoid routine or shared bathroom shelf needs one serious, fragrance-free cream, this is the strongest barrier formula in our cream lineup — and at 200ml, the most economical per use.

Olive Young best-sellers Korea

Olive Young's barrier benchmark — pseudo-ceramide and sterols in 80ml, where ours brings 1% ectoin, real ceramide NP and 200ml for the family.

A multi-HA soothing gel-cream — lighter wear, but humectants only, where ours adds the lipids and ectoin a stressed barrier needs.

A gentle sea-water barrier cream — honest and mild, but without ectoin at a stated dose or a baby-grade award record behind it.
Amazon best-sellers US

The cult fragrance-free ceramide cream — a fair rival, but built on a pseudo-ceramide with no ectoin, where ours prints 10,000ppm on the label.

A viral two-piece set half of which is a retinol treatment — ours is one fragrance-free barrier cream a whole family can share.

A collagen-and-niacinamide firming cream, silicone-heavy — ours spends its formula on barrier repair: ectoin, ceramide NP and panthenol.
Same family, double the dose: the cream carries ectoin at 10,000ppm (1%) versus the lotion's 5,000ppm, with a richer lipid phase. Lotion for day and light wear, cream for night, winter and very dry skin — many households run both.
Ectoin is an extremolyte that helps skin cells hold water under stress — dry air, heating, wind. At 1% it is among the higher doses you'll find in a cream, and baronsie states it on the label rather than hiding it in marketing.
Yes — no fragrance, no essential oils, zero Hwahae allergen-caution flags. A faint raw-material scent (12 of 2,349 reviews) fades on contact.
It is sold in Korea as a family cream for infants through adults, from the same line whose lotion won a baby & mom award. Patch test first and ask a doctor about broken or treated skin, as with any cosmetic.
It is a true cream: 170 of 2,349 reviewers note an oily feel, mostly in daytime wear. Oily and combination skin do better with it at night — or with the baronsie lotion by day and this at night.

Friction
Read the frictions as fit cues: it is a true cream, so the oily-feel mentions (170, about 7%) come mostly from oily skin wearing it by day — night use or the lighter baronsie lotion solves both. On tolerance the record is strong: 'no irritation' logs 760 mentions, allergy-like reports sit at 1.4%, and the formula carries zero Hwahae allergen-caution flags with no fragrance or essential oils.
